INT. LOS RIO ACCOMADATION, HOTEL ROOM – CONTINUOUS

Daniel looks around at the poorly furnished room. It has some trappings of a hotel like a nice bed and curtains over a small barred window, but is unmistakable a cell, if however a large one. One corner has been walled off to make a bathroom.

LUCAS
Well good night. Lucas slams the door shut and a locking sound is heard.

DANIEL
Did that door just lock?

GABRIEL
Of course, it is a old cell, the doors lock from the outside. Don’t worry we will come pick you up in the morning and then we find your brother. Sleep well.

Lucas and Gabriel walk down the hallway leaving Daniel alone in the barren room. He sits down on the bed.

DANIEL
I knew I’d hate this city.

INT. LOS RIO ACCOMMODATION – NIGHT

Daniel stands in a dimly lit hallway made up of white concrete walls. Behind him stand Lucas and Gabriel, in front of him is a heavy metal door.

DANIEL
How is this a hotel? It looks like a prison.

GABRIEL
Yes that’s right.

DANIEL
Excuse me.

GABRIEL
It used to be a minimum security prison, then a new one got built and someone had the bad idea to turn it into a hotel. As you can imagine it’s not very popular.

DANIEL
I can imagine, I would rather re-enter my mothers womb than stay here for a night.

GABRIEL

I am afraid it’s the only accommodation in the city available.

Daniel walks into the large room.

The hotel receptionist opens the door and Daniel rushes into the small room. Lucas and Gabriel enter behind him, the hotel receptionist stays in the doorway. Daniel scans the room, he opens draws, looks under the sheets, then enters the bathroom. He cries out and walks back in holding a phone.

DANIEL
It’s Nathan’s phone, he left it behind. Why would he leave his phone behind? Unless.

He looks up and Gabriel and Lucas in horror.

DANIEL (CONT’D)
I knew it, he’s in trouble. I, I have to find him.

Gabriel and Lucas share a look and Lucas pulls out his phone and exits the room to make a call. Gabriel looks back at Daniel and smiles.

GABRIEL
We will help you find your brother.

DANIEL
I appreciate that, you guys are quite the gentleman. But how are we going to find him? He could be anywhere.

Daniel sits back on the bed and puts his head in his hands.

DANIEL (CONT’D)
I’m too tired for this. Where are you Nathan?

GABRIEL
Maybe you should get some sleep you can help us find him in the morning.

Daniel looks around the room.

DANIEL
Well I guess I could stay here. I’ll need the maid to clean it up first of course.

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
I’m sorry sir but we are fully booked, in fact their are people waiting for this room right now.

DANIEL
Fully booked? How is this place fully booked?

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
Carnival starts tomorrow, I don’t think there would be a hotel in the city that wouldn’t be fully booked.

GABRIEL
I think I might know of one.

INT. HOTEL BANDEIRANTES – EVENING

Daniel enters a rundown, low cost, hotel, with Lucas and Gabriel behind him. He gleefully approaches the HOTEL RECEPTIONIST, a mid 30’s man dressed neatly who’s beginning to bald.

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
Mr. Reeves, you’re back already. What can I do for you?

DANIEL
(happily)
Hello, I’m actually not the Mr. Reeves you think I am. Nathan is staying here, I’m his brother Daniel. Don’t worry it happens all the time. But I was hoping to get the number to Nathan’s room and a key of possible. I’m hoping to surprise him.

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
I’m sorry, I am confused.

DANIEL
Oh, okay, I understand. You see we’re twins, so what that means is that we’re brothers that were both born at the same time and came from the same egg, that’s why we look alike. During fertilization-

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
No, no I understand what twins are, but your brother, he checked out this morning.

Daniels face turns to one of horror.

DANIEL
He what? What do you mean he checked out?

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
He left this morning, I believe he was travelling on to somewhere else.

DANIEL
Where? Where was he going?

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
I’m sorry, I don’t know he did not tell me.

DANIEL
No, you have to know, did he say anything?

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
Nothing I can recall, like I said he and a young lady left this morning.

Lucas slams his fist down on the counter.

LUCAS
Tell us where they went.

Daniel turns to Lucas.

DANIEL
Lucas, I appreciate your enthusiasm, and no one wants to find Nathan more that me, but I will handle this.

Daniel slams his fist down on the counter in a much less intimidating manner.

DANIEL (CONT’D)
Tell us where he went.

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
I told you I don’t know. You can check his room if you want. I don’t think it’s been cleaned yet.

The hotel receptionist turns and grabs a key from behind him.
